Priya trained in scripted, assisting on returning drama before taking episodes of her own. Fifteen years on she moves between drama and high-end longform factual, bringing the same approach to both: performance first, then rhythm, then everything else.

She is known for performance selection — the patience to sit through every take and the confidence to build a scene from the reading nobody expected. Directors tend to ask for her twice.

Her cuts are scored early and cut against temp music deliberately, so tension is built into the structure rather than applied at the dub.
